My App Stack: Job van der Voort, CEO at Remote

#SmallBusiness

“My App Stack” is a new series where we dig in with top CMOs, CROs, CTOs and CEOs on just what apps they’re really using to run their business.  I always learn a lot from these — they are in essence a best practices list from each leader.  Last time we had a great one with Rachel Wolan, CPO at Webflow, check it out here.

This week we have Job van der Voort, CEO at Remote!

#1.  What’s your core stack of apps today?

I use Obsidian for notes, Notion, Slack and Linear for productivity, Google Meet for communication, Superhuman for email, Figma for design, Loom for video recording, Audio Hijack for recording audio streams, Stream Deck and Keyboard Maestro for automation, Hazel for file organization, Ollama for running local language models, and Remote for global HR management.

#2.  What’s the number one top new app you’ve added the past year?

Ollama, which allows me to run open-source large language models locally on my computer.

#3.  Other than your own, what app would you never let anyone take away from you no matter what:

There are many great apps that achieve similar results, but for email management, I’d go with Superhuman.

#4.  What’s your top “undiscovered gem” — an app you love but others may not have heard of?

Keyboard Maestro. While it may appear a bit difficult to use initially, it’s incredibly powerful once you start programming with it.
