Berlin-based Lendis bags €80 million to scale up its operating system for hybrid work #StartUps

#BusinessGuide

Today, Lendis has just announced an €80 million Series A funding round for its  SaaS solution that helps companies to set up and manage their employees’ equipment and software in the hybrid working world.

Circularity Capital and Keen Venture Partners led the round, supported by coparion, HGDF and KPN Ventures. Existing investors HV Capital, DN Capital, and Picus Capital participate as well. The round is structured with €30 million in equity and €50 million in debt. This brings Lendis’ overall funding to date to well over €100 million.

Founded in 2018, the Berlin-based startup has seen accelerated growth since the beginning of the pandemic when the vast majority of office workers found themselves having to set up home offices. Now, as some semblance of normality has begun to return, most workers are yet to return to the office full-time in what can now only be described as a cultural shift in how we work.

Hybrid work and fully remote working were once-upon-a-time quite unique, but now, they’re the normal standard. It’s thought that 90% of companies will work on either a remote or hybrid basis in the future.

The shift to hybrid work has created huge organizational challenges for companies. From onboarding and offboarding to managing employees scattered in different locations, it’s been quite a logistical nightmare for some. Further, while companies like Deel and Remote.com support payroll processes, the management of equipment and software has been left out of scope.

Lendis is tackling this challenge – its SaaS solution allows companies to digitally set up and manage all their work equipment (e.g. laptops, smartphones, office furniture) and software. Lendis provides customers with ‘one-stop shop’ access to all the inventory they need—from office chairs to Macbooks – and with a subscription-based rental model, SMEs and startups can spread the costs and reduce expenses. In addition, Lendis handles the delivery and installation of equipment, repairs, on-site replacement, collection and redistribution and the platform helps customers track and manage equipment across multiple locations. The flexible service is also providing a more eco-friendly and sustainable way to source office equipment.

Lendis’ CTO Jonathan Moreira Zuvic, said: “At Lendis we work hybrid ourselves and know the challenges of globally distributed teams. With our operating system for hybrid work we want to empower people to work from anywhere they want.”

Already, Lendis has equipped over 100,000 employees at more than 1,000 companies, such as Hochtief, Bitburger, Lufthansa, AboutYou, WWF, and Personio. In 2020 alone customers doubled and revenue trebled.

By 2023, Co-Founders Julius Bolz and Stavros Papadopoulos want Lendis to be the leading operating system for hybrid work in Europe. To achieve this, the team is doubling its Tech and Product teams and is hiring talent across the globe.
