Fashion retailer Superdry is partnering with Oxfam to make it easier for consumers to donate their pre-loved Superdry clothes to charity for re-sale as part of its sustainability push.

The programme will see Superdry offer ‘Give Back’ boxes in stores that shoppers can collect to use to give clothes to the charity retailer. Once boxed and before handing them over in Oxfam, consumers can scan a QR code to be entered into a £100 Superdry voucher charity draw.

Initially being piloted in 22 stores and the Superdry HQ, the fashion company says that the move will not only help reduce textile waste, but also provide an effective new way to engage with a younger, more sustainability conscious consumers.

Commenting on the move, Julian Dunkerton, CEO at Superdry, says: “The urgency of the climate crisis has broadened how we think about ourselves and the way we approach business. As a business we want to effect positive change for present and future generations and build a positive environmental legacy.”

Danny Sriskandarajah, chief executive of Oxfam GB, adds: “We’re excited to be partnering with Superdry to help people donate clothes to Oxfam, which will raise vital funds to fight poverty around the world. Donating to Oxfam also helps to reduce the impact of clothing on the environment by giving garments a new lease of life.”
