Virtually try on makeup with Google Search using AR. Google has launched an augmented reality feature that lets users virtually try on makeup. Google is working with data partners ModiFace and Perfect Corp to help users visualize thousands of lipstick and eyeshadow shades from brands such as L’Oréal, MAC Cosmetics, Black Opal, and Charlotte Tilbury. When they search for a lipstick or eyeshadow product, users can see what it looks like on a range of skin tones and compare shades and textures.

Walmart to pilot in-app live shopping on TikTok. Walmart has partnered with TikTok to allow people to shop from the short-form video platform. On December 18, Walmart piloted a shopping event on TikTok featuring 10 influencers who showcased Walmart fashion apparel and private label brands. Viewers could tap items on TikTok to add them directly to their Walmart shopping cart.

ShipStation launches in-cart delivery options. ShipStation is launching in-cart delivery options for the Shopify and BigCommerce platforms, allowing merchants to control the shipping choices presented to customers at checkout. Merchants can create free, flat-rate, and live-rate shipping options for any of their carriers in ShipStation to show accurate rates, offer expedited services, and apply discounts and free shipping — all in the cart.

Verishop launches “Shop Party” feature for online video shopping with friends. Verishop has launched a new iOS app feature called “Shop Party,” where users can hang out over video chat, explore products and shoppable content, see what others are browsing, and check out with Verishop’s commerce experience. Also, brand partners, industry experts, and stylists can host a Shop Party for individual or small group shopping and education sessions.

Amazon launches “Made for You” custom clothing service. Amazon has launched a new service called “Made for You,” which lets shoppers create custom clothing to their exact measurements. Made for You requires users to provide their height, weight, body style, and two photos. The service currently allows users to create t-shirts. After users provide their data, they choose from eight colors, preferred sleeve and shirt lengths, necklines, fabrics, and other aspects, such as a slim, classic, or relaxed fit. When finished, shoppers can view the product on a virtual body double before placing the order.

Digital River unveils three new accelerator programs to build a direct-to-consumer commerce channel. Digital River, an ecommerce enabler for established and fast-growing brands, has unveiled three new accelerator programs to help companies launch a direct-to-consumer commerce channel. Using one of three options, brands can connect a front-end commerce platform with Digital River’s back-end, which combines global payments, taxes, fraud, and compliance capabilities.

Linc launches new real-time promotion-support digital worker. Linc has announced its “Promotion Support Digital Worker,” a chatbot to resolve promo code questions at critical buying points. The Promotion Support Digital Worker builds upon Linc’s existing Promotion Finder Digital Worker, which launched last year, allowing users to discover and receive information about current promotions, ensuring sales are not lost.

FreedomPay selects Kount as a partner for global fraud prevention and data protection. FreedomPay, a data-driven commerce platform, has announced a strategic partnership with Kount, a fraud-prevention and identity-trust provider, to integrate artificial-intelligence-driven identity trust services into FreedomPay’s platform. Kount enables businesses to accept more orders while reducing false positives, reducing manual reviews, and chargebacks.

Ignition Commerce launches Salesforce SFRA migration program. Adelphic adds integration with Clinch for shoppable video ads. Adelphic, a demand-side platform for omnichannel advertising, announced an integration with Clinch to deliver shoppable video ads. Marketers can now leverage Clinch’s shoppable video ad services with the power of Adelphic’s Total Graph, a first-party data infrastructure for omnichannel campaigns, personalized messaging, and more.
