One of the key trends emerging from lockdown and the pandemic is that shoppers are increasingly shopping locally. Now two locally-focussed tech offerings are partnering to make discovery of the things consumers need in their vicinity easier.

Uberall, a provider of ‘Near Me’ brand experience marketing solutions, and Nextdoor, a neighbourhood hub for trusted connections, are partnering to, in their words, boost local retail visibility and engagement with consumers wherever they live, worldwide.

Nextdoor connects neighbours to everything nearby, including local businesses and services. Nextdoor provides businesses with a free profile, called a Business Page, and is differentiated from other local search and directory sites through verified users who seek and provide recommendations – ensuring authentic and truly local content, as well as high-quality interactions.

‘Uberall Listings’ customers will now find Nextdoor in Uberall’s network of partner platforms. Thanks to a centralised platform, the information on their Nextdoor Business Page will be updated in real time and sync with all of their online profiles.

By claiming a Business Page on Nextdoor, local businesses can establish an influential online presence and instantly reach thousands of neighbours with high buying intent and potential for conversion. More than 88% of Nextdoor members make local purchases at least once a week, and Nextdoor provides businesses with an easy and efficient way to connect to nearby customers in the neighbourhood.

People are using Nextdoor in more than 17,000 neighbourhoods in the UK, and with this new partnership they will be able to find complete and up-to-date information on nearby businesses. Business Pages are 100% customisable and allow local businesses to provide customers with practical information such as opening hours, contact details and delivery options.

To engage with customers and build their reputation, businesses can respond directly to comments posted by neighbours on Nextdoor. In this high-intent, high-trust environment, 70% of Nextdoor members trust word of mouth from their neighbours, and there are 50 million local business recommendations by neighbours on Nextdoor.

"The growth of ’Near Me’ online searches for nearby physical stores is a development that companies need to take into account when interacting with their consumers at the local level," says Florian Hübner, CEO and founder of Uberall. "The partnership between Uberall and Nextdoor will enable many companies to get closer to their local customers by providing them with accurate and up-to-date information for their search for products and services close to home".

Nick Lisher, Head of EMEA, Nextdoor, adds: “2020 has been an incredibly challenging year for local businesses. Many were forced to shut, drastically change hours or completely change the way they trade. At Nextdoor we want to provide as much support to these businesses as possible because we recognise that when local businesses thrive, communities thrive. That’s why we’re excited to be partnering with Uberall to help more local businesses get back on their feet and reach the customers that matter the most to them.”
