Slovakian startup NextRetreat raises €600K to organise team retreats and trips #StartUps

Kosice-based NextRetreat has today announced raising €600K from Vision Ventures, to bring back team travel and help reunite dispersed teams post-COVID. The funding will enable the team to build on its pre-existing client base, make new partnerships and develop NextRetreat.com, an end-to-end solution for team travel.

NextRetreat, founded in 2020, are positive about the future of travel, especially work travel. Their aim is to help teams that are working remotely, flexibly or indeed in the same office, choose the right trip destination, find and book venues with ideal accommodations and workspace, and arrange local services such as airport transfers and a private chef.

It’s interesting to note that NextRetreat was built from the previous team of Wolfhouse (2017), a company that opened a coliving space for teams in Tenerife, Spain. Having facilitated travel and hosted over 2,000 team members in Canary Islands and other inspiring destinations, and been featured in magazines like Forbes, the team has closed Wolfhouse and founded instead NextRetreat, a team travel startup with its sights set on a bigger prize.

“This financing will enable us to further capitalise on our knowledge and client base built over the past 2-3 years, and partnerships with companies such as Priceline Group will help us continue to develop NextRetreat.com – the first end-to-end solution for team travel. We have come a long way since opening the first coliving space for teams in the world and hosting our first team retreat. Our ambition now is to become number one in the industry in Europe, the US and around the world”, commented Martin Studencan, NextRetrea’s CEO.

Tomas Bel, partner of Vision Ventures commented: “We believe that the COVID crisis can accelerate opportunities for travel-tech and will strengthen the tendency towards remote teams. Merging these two factors can create a completely new market. Also, we like the strong team behind NextRetreat.”
